Webinar: The Morals We Live By
June 9 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm
Many of us approach politics with a keen sense for what is right and wrong.
But what is right? What is wrong? How do we know the difference? If we disagree with others who hold different views, is there a way we can still work together to solve public problems?
Join us on June 9 to explore these questions through our webinar: The Morals We Live By. This webinar will be led by Lisa Swallow, Co-founder and Executive Director of SAGE’s partner organization, Crossing Party Lines.
Drawing on the work of Jonathan Haidt and his book, The Righteous Mind, Lisa will spotlight six moral foundations that are held across cultures and how they manifest in different people at different times. We’ll explore the tensions within our morals, so we can better understand ourselves and our views, and relate to people who may hold different views.
In this workshop you will:
- Learn to recognize the moral underpinnings of your own views;
- Listen for indications that one or more of the six moral foundations is at play in an any political discussion; and
- Bring morality into your political discussions in a non-confrontational way.
Whether you know it or not, your political views are a reflection of your moral foundation. Join us on June 9 and bring your morals to the conversation.Click to Register for Event

“Being American isn’t about race, religion, or political views. It’s about believing in America and doing our part to make democracy work. It begins with the skills and capacity to talk to one another, explore issues from all angles, and respect every American’s needs.”
What is the SAGE Citizen Project?
This event is offered through the SAGE Citizen Project. Through our project, we offer educational initiatives to build bridges between people who hold diverse views in order to solve public problems together.
