Education for Climate Solutions & Justice

Vision 2030 is a team of students, teachers, volunteers and nonprofit and governmental organizations who support a local approach to educate middle and high school students about Portland’s efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 50 percent from 1990 levels by 2030.

Our team offers the Keystone Lesson on Climate Justice & Solutions and we promote related lessons and projects led by students, teachers, and partners. We also partner with schools to organize fairs and events for students to learn about different climate solutions and job opportunities.

Serve as a Climate Solutions Fair Volunteer

SAGE's Vision 2030 Team offers education for middle and high school students about the Portland and Multnomah County climate goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50 percent from 1990 levels by the year 2030.

Are you concerned about climate change? If so, we encourage you to join us as a Vision 2030 Climate Solutions Fair Volunteer to inform students about our region’s 2030 climate goal, the solutions in our region’s Climate Action Plan, relevant workforce opportunities, and to facilitate hands-on learning experiences for students.

Serve as a Climate Solutions Educator

Do you enjoy working with middle and high school students? If so, join us as a Climate Solutions Educator to inform students about our region’s 2030 climate goal, the solutions in our region’s Climate Action Plan, relevant workforce opportunities, and to support hands-on projects for students. You can also help facilitate connections between students and teachers and project-learning experiences offered by our partners.

Core team members meet bi-weekly to network and to accomplish more together. All team members meet periodically to share progress on specific projects. Together, we offer:

Want to partner on a fair or event?

Vision 2030 has partnered with schools and districts to support climate solutions events and fairs in English and Spanish, and for both middle and high school students. In 2024, we will host three more fairs at middle schools in Portland.
